But in June last year, publisher City Interactive announced that it had removed the feature, telling Joystiq that its removal was to ensure the game wouldn't be banned in Germany, where censorship laws restrict the sale of particularly violent products.
At the same time, however, City told the site that it intended to reimplement the feature via free DLC at the game's...

"I've only recently begun to appreciate the life of a good Sniper, with Sniper Elite V2 pulling me over to the dark side of shooters, so I was excited to get my hands on City Interactives Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 last week. I hadn't played the original, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but my new-found love for sniping had me more than ready to look down its scope."

EG:In Ghost Warrior 2, this central action is nested within three types of mission. In one, you act as the lone wolf, sprinting down a narrative corridor the designer has laid for you, eliminating close targets with a knife or silenced pistol and distant targets with a crouch and snipe. The second type - which draws most heavily upon Modern Warfare's sniping excursions - pairs you with a spotter, who runs alongside you through a level, calling out targets, instructing you when to wait for the search light to pass and offering whispered encouragement for well aimed shots.

"Sniper: Ghost Warrior hit the gaming scene in 2010. It wasn't very well received, but it sold well enough to warrant a sequel. The first installment was panned for containing too many run-and-gun missions, something that shouldn't be in a game supposedly all about sniping. With that, developer City Interactive decided to make some much-needed improvements with the sequel, Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2. While they succeeded in building a game that focuses more on stealth and sniping, the final product leaves much to be desired."
